After finishing the Cressida Holiday Lets website I was approached by the same client to help set up a website for his future job as a pianist and composer. My client runs the holiday home as a side project but is traditionally a music pianist and composer. I integrated a music player using an open source player which plays clips of Anthony’s original compositions also with booking details.

Cressida Holiday Lets

I was approached by a client who had recently renovated a flat in Whitby, North Yorkshire. He wanted a brochure site creating to show off the flat and the surrounding area of Whitby. The initial spec stated that the site must show all the different features of the flat, have plenty of images and testimonials of recent people staying at the flat.

I decided to incorporate a side scrolling aspect to the site using JavaScript so the user never leaves the front page and can find all the information within seconds. The testimonials page uses the CSS3 Font-Face styling to import a font from Google-Fonts.

Abtec Computer Solutions Ltd

I was approached by my former manager to create a new, up to date site for a specialist ICT solution supplier who covers the North West of England. The specification set out the organisations aims for the website and it became quite clear they wanted an up to date, vibrant website which showed off their services and customer care. The design uses a JavaScript slider to advertise their services and how they can support your business. The client requested not to use a CMS so instead I created a series of template files in Dreamweaver.

At the moment, the site is not currently live as Abtec are currently producing a content plan for the site. It should be live within the coming weeks.

Perfection Nail & Beauty Salon

I was approached by a local entrepreneur to create a website for her local nail and beauty salon specialising in nail treatments for the Manchester area. The brief was simple, to provide a simple, colorful site which would show off her range of nail and beauty services and a photo gallery of her nail designs. I incorporated a gallery on the home page using an open source platform while also designing and creating a price list to fit with the general style of the shop.

This is actually version 2 of the website and shows off some of the latest CSS3 techniques including custom fonts, rounded DIVs, text shadows and gradients.

The website is currently being optimised to improve its rankings within Google and the other major search engines. I’ve been carrying out on-site SEO with Keyword research, link building and using rich, informative copyright. The site currently occupies page 3 of Google but I hope to achieve a front page ranking within the next few months.

Byrchall High School

The site was created while employed at the Byrchall High School. It was my job to create and maintain this site. The sites main target audience were parents of potential children who may attend the school in the future and the current student’s parents. It was important that all the relevant information was easy to find for parents.

My one main regret was not implementing the site in a CMS after its release as I wanted to use WordPress but unfortunately I left the role during the initial design stages.
